Volunteer Engagement Coordinator
The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator oversees the daily operations of La Soupe’s volunteer program, ensuring a consistent, organized, and mission-driven volunteer experience across all departments. This role manages scheduling systems, recruitment and onboarding logistics, and volunteer communications.
Reports to: Director of Volunteer Engagement, Mykayla Kroeger
Payroll type: Hourly (non-exempt)
Availability/Hours: Available Monday-Friday (8:00-4:00 PM) with some weekend and evenings as needed. 40 hours per week.

Job Responsibilities:
● Oversee and manage the volunteer scheduling across all program areas
● Ensure appropriate volunteer coverage for daily operations and special events
● Maintain efficient systems for scheduling, communication and engagement
● Manage volunteer recruitment pipelines
● Oversee onboarding logistics, including registration, orientation, and readiness for shifts
● Deliver volunteer trainings and ensure consistency in onboarding experience
● Support ongoing volunteer engagement and retention efforts
● Manage day to day communications with volunteers
● Ensure a positive, mission-based volunteer experience
● Track volunteer hours and attendance
● Support and collaborate with Volunteer Champions across departments
● Assist the Director of Volunteer Engagement with the Volunteer Committee
● Support implementation of strategic initiatives and program improvements
● Step in to support Volunteer Coordinator and Production Assistant roles when coverage gaps arise
Skills and Education:
● 3-5 years of experience in volunteer management, nonprofit operations, or related field
