About La Soupe: La Soupe is the sole chef-led initiative in Cincinnati that bridges the gap between food waste and insecurity. We partner with volunteers and over 150 local grocers, farms, restaurants, manufacturers, and distributors to rescue an average of 25,000 lbs of fresh food weekly. Our team of chefs expertly transforms these rescued ingredients into restaurant-quality soupes and meals that are shared with community partners who feed the food insecure. La Soupe has rescued over 5 million pounds of food and shared over 3.5 million restaurant-quality servings since its inception.  While La Soupe chefs and volunteers are addressing the immediate needs of food waste and food insecurity, La Soupe dietitians, teachers, and advocates are dedicated to creating sustainable change through our programs that educate and empower communities to waste less and live healthier.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Pick up and distribute food from our rescue partners to La Soupe, share partners and events

  • Load, unload, log, sort, and properly store food immediately upon arrival at La Soupe

  • Maintains standards, policies, and procedures 

  • Maintain a clean driving record and obey all traffic laws

  • Stand on your feet for up to 8 hours a shift in cold and hot environments. 

  • Check email daily

  • La Soupe Ambassador:  Attends events on time, professional appearance, informed about La Soupe’s mission, operations, and projects. 

Skills and Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent. Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license as well as a documented safe driving record. Must be able to complete the ServSafe certified food handler program. Prior food handling experience is a plus. 

  • Ideal characteristics:

    • Understanding of food safety and quality assurance 

    • Desire to help others

  • Is well-versed in warehouse operations, FIFO rotation, order fulfillment, delivery driving, and volunteer engagement. 

Compensation: $19.50 starting Wage
