Celebrating the Heart of La Soupe: Our Volunteers

As we reflect on another meaningful year — and on La Soupe’s first ten years of impact — one truth rises above all others: La Soupe is powered by people. Our volunteers show up with compassion, consistency, and an unwavering belief that good food should nourish both body and spirit.

Since we began tracking volunteer hours in 2020, our in-house volunteers have contributed an extraordinary 31,554 hours to La Soupe’s mission. Every shift in the kitchen, every box packed, every hand extended represents care in action — and a shared commitment to feeding our community with dignity and purpose.

We are especially grateful to those who have reached remarkable milestones.

700+ Hour Milestones

350+ Hour Milestones

Beyond our kitchen walls, our Education Volunteers — including Teaching Assistants, Class Aides, and Kit Builders — have donated more than 2,500 hours since 2020, helping engage students and strengthen our culinary education programs.

We also want to recognize our incredible Food Rescue US drivers, who ensure good food never goes to waste. This year alone, they completed 4,477 rescue runs, bringing the total to 25,729 rescues since 2020. Every mile driven helps transform surplus food into shared meals.

Every hour volunteered, every mile driven, and every meal saved fuels La Soupe’s mission. As we celebrate ten years of operation and look ahead to what’s next, we do so with deep gratitude for the volunteers who continue to show up — quietly, generously, and wholeheartedly.

You are the heart of La Soupe. Thank you for making this work possible.
